Aston Villa 0 Leeds United 3
Aston Villa's chance to move to the top of the table by LeedsUnited were grounded when they succumbed to a 0-3 defeat at the hands of visiting Leeds United on Friday night.
The hosts came into the game on the back of wins in their first four Premer League games, a feat they had not achieved since 1930-31.
But a hat-rick by Patrick Bamford put paid to Villa's dreams of a record fifth win.In a game that went into half-time goalless, Leeds missed quite a few opportunities to go ahead early as Bamford's header was off the mark and the forward's side-footed shot from Jack Harrison's low cross went wide.

Leeds' record signing from Manchester City Rodrigo was also guilty of wasting golden chances, slicing one shot wide before seeing an effort blocked by Villa goalie Ezri Konsa.
On the other hand, the only occassions the hosts went close before interval was when Jack Grealish's attempt was cleared off the line by Luke Ayling and a little later the Villa captain running from his own half unleashed a shot from close range that was saved by Illan Meslier.
But the tide turned in favour of the visitors as Bamford found the corner of the net after Villa keeper Emiliano Martinez had palmed out Rodrigo's low shot.
1-0 for Leeds in the 55th minute.
The Leeds striker got his hattrick with a curling finish from a low Helder Costa ball in the 74th.
After his team thrashed Liverpool sensationally in a 7-2 win some time back, Friday's home defeat sure was a bitter let down for coach Dean Smith.
